DPLUS083 Erosion Extent

This dataset for erosion extent was generated as part of the Darwin Plus 083 project ‘Soil map and online database as climate change mitigation tools’, which was funded by the Darwin Initiative through UK Government and ran from April 2018 to October 2020. Additional layers for physical and chemical soil properties, soil classes, erosion risk , peat depth and peatland extent are also available on the data portal.

Lineage	The layer was produced by selecting 177 points across the Falklands and scoring them on a scale of 0 (=no erosion) to 10 (=full erosion) based on erosion logging during the fieldwork and satellite imagery interpretation. A model containing satellite imagery, topography and habitat was developed to extrapolate this information across the Falkland Islands.
